Native American Art Exhibit

The Native American Art Display Reception scheduled for Saturday, March 14 will be postponed.

Friends of the Library is pleased to announce a new art exhibit, “Native American Art”, in the Fernandina Beach Library Community Room, showing examples of many Native American art techniques along with educational materials from the Teacher’s Traveling Art Exhibit for schools and libraries. The exhibit will hang from January 15 thru April 30, 2020.

The exhibition represents the major Native American regions, including the Northeast, Plains, Southwest, Southeast and Northwest and offers viewers a broad cross-section of Native American art forms including prints, masks, rugs, rattles, shields and kachinas. This exhibition is augmented with actual art objects on display from several members of the Fernandina Beach Community with significant personal collections of Native American art. They have generously loaned examples from their collection for our community to enjoy.

There will be a reception at the Fernandina Beach Library for all “ Collectors of Native American “ at an upcoming date. In addition, there will be activities for children and students to be scheduled and advertised separately.

Additional pictures and information upon request. Gallery Hours are every Wednesday 2-4 pm and Saturday 2-4 pm and upon request for a showing.
